The Long Sutton & District Veteran Cycle Club was formed at a meeting Held at Mr. Ellis's House in Bridge Road Long sutton on Sunday December 15th 1957.
Present at the formation was:-

W. Cousins
D. Tebbs
At this formation meeting Randy Churchill became temporary Chairman, he outlined the object and purposes of the Club and read Correspondance from the National Assosciation of Veteran Cycle Club.
It was proposed by Mr. W. Cousins, that the proposed club should be formed and was seconded by Mr. T . Percival and the meeting was unanimous.
A short discussion was held as to the name of the club. A proposition by Mr. G. Taylor that the club be named 'Long Sutton & District Veteran Cycle Club' this was seconded by Mr.W.Cousins and passed unanimous
The next businesof the meeting was the elections of Officials and after a brief did=scussion it was decided not to elect a President or Vice President at this meeting until a later date.
A proposition by Mr. J Talton that Mr. G. Taylor be Chairman this was seconde by Mr. W. Cousins. As there was no nominations the Chairman asked for a show of hands and Mr. G. Taylor was elected unanimous.
The Chair was taken over by Mr. G. Taylor who asked for nomination for the post of Hon. Secretary and Treasurer. A proposition by Mr. T. Percival and seconded by Miss. B. Goodale that these posts be taken by Mr. R. Churchill was accepted there was a show of hands and they were duly elected.
It was decided to elect a Press Publicity Secretary and Mr. W. Cousins proposed Mr. J. Talton and was seconded by Mr. D. Ellis. and the meeting was unanimous.
A proposition by Mr. D. Ellis that the committee consist of five persons was seconded by Mr. W. Cousins a vote was taken and there was seven in favour and one abstention, so the motion was passed.
The Chairman then took the business of electing two committee members by asking for nominations. Miss B. Goodale proposed Mr. D. Ellis this was seconded by Mr. J. Talton. A proposition by Mr. W. Cousins that Mr. T. Percival be the other member was seconded by Mr. D. Tibbs. This was agreed with a show of hands.
The next item on the agenda was Membership details and subscriptions. A proposition by Mr. J. Talton that, the club be invitation only and new members be proposed and seconded by existing members and acceepted by the committee was seconded by Mr. D. Ellis.
It was proposed by Mr. W. Cousins that the annual subscription be one guinea, with CTC rates for families this was seconded by Mr. J. Talton it was proposed unanimous
It was agreed to arrange a club run and then the meeting was closed.
This meeting is the most important part of our history it set in motion the basics to the club that have allowed the club to still be active over 50 years later.
